About Yildiz Sethi
I was born in England and moved to Australia in 1986.
I was a High school teacher of Physics and Chemistry for many years until a very significant time in my life, when I was introduced to Jyotish Astrology (Vedic Astrology). On holiday in Australia I met two Vedic astrologers in two days. I was so blown away by the readings and the insight it gave me, that I started to study this mystical science straight away. I found some good Vedic astrology teachers here in Sydney and have been to America on conferences and also to India for Vedic astrology.
My interest and passion for High school teaching waned as I studied more and more astrology, until I started to give astrology readings. This experience alerted me to the fact that readings can be very powerful and that I wasn’t really equipped to deal with any emotions that might arise in the consultation. I decided to quit teaching and do a full time study of counselling. I am now a Vedic astrologer and teacher and also a registered brief therapist in private practice and also an Educator at the Australian College of Applied Psychology.
My personal karmic path involved being born to a Turkish father and English mother and marrying a Hindu and being named Yildiz which directly translates to “Star” in Turkish. As a young person I was very interested in spirituality and spent a lot of time in studying world religions and looking for their similarities and differences. Being born between different religions and also increasing this through my marriage, has been part of my journey of finding a path that is unified and feels whole for me. The study of Vedic astrology, which is both analytical and scientific continues to help me in my own spiritual evolution has been a very deep and meaningful journey for me.
I take delight in helping others make sense of their own karmic patterns and helping them make the most of their talents and overcoming or coping with their challenges. These are all part of life’s rich tapestry.
I have also been trained in Family Constellations which is a method developed by Bert Hellinger to overcome relationship problems within a family.

I have always been interested in Astrology and Astronomy but I found Astrology difficult to work with in the early 1980's. Charts had to be drawn by hand and it could take hours to draw the chart before you started to interpret it. This was an error prone and time consuming process.
In 1998, I came across two Vedic astrologers who were using computer software to generate the charts. I became hooked again and haven't looked back. The charts are easy to draw and the time can now be spent on interpreting the chart (still takes a long time to do this and for a full reading can take up to 5 hours!).
I am an ex-President of the Australian Vedic Council of Astrologers and I also teach Vedic Astrology courses. I did my training in Family Constellations which is a method developed by Bert Hellinger to overcome relationship problems within a family. Vedic Astrology shows the challenges you have in this life and Family Constellations helps you overcome it.
